Thanksgiving 2008

I can't wait to be sitting down at our little dinner table as we get ready to dig in to a wonderful turkey dinner. I am actually salivating as I type this...mmmmm. Wish we could all be together for a big Thanksgiving dinner this year. That is one thing I always remember about my childhood is enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner around Grandpa & Grandma's big dinner table. So much fun. I remember Grandma always trying to get me to "try" a brussel sprout but finding it still on my plate at the end of the meal...or maybe it "magically" disappeared into Duffy's mouth (no wonder he liked me so much...lol)

We will be thinking of you as we head into this long weekend. If anyone wishes to surprise us this weekend feel free to drop on in and celebrate with us. We have an extra bed with your name(s) on it.

Maplewood Farm

Daddy was busy working, so I decided to take the girls out on a trip to the farm. Adysen has been a few times before, but it was the first trip for Presley. They both loved it. Addy was a bit shy of the animals at first, but once she was convinced they weren't going to bite her, she was okay. Presley thought the goats were great. She loved petting them and thought they would be fun to ride on as well. I don't think the goat was too happy. After the goats we visited the sheeps and the lambs, the horses and the cows, the bunnies and the ducks, the chickens and the peacocks, but, the most favorite part of the trip was Adysen's very first pony ride. She was so excited she could stop smiling. I think there will be many more trips to the farm this year.

Addy's wacky outfits

Here is another one of Adysen's outfits. She loves clothes. She loves to dress up. She loves to try new things, and sometimes this is what she comes up with. Isn't she funny. She sure know how to keep us laughing.

PRESLEY TURNS 1

IS IT APRIL 17 ALREADY? I can't believe my baby turns one today. She has accomplished so much in the first year of her life and still amazes us everyday. She is so much fun to have around. Her goofy little faces will always put a smile on your face, and her cute giggle will keep you laughing.

She had no idea what all the commotion was about today. She was pretty excited about the balloons that were tied to her high chair though. She kept say bawoo bawoo. She had big smile when we sang her 'Happy Birthday' and devoured her entire piece of cake. Best of all she loved all the presents her big sister helped her open. I am sure she will get a lot of play out of them.

What a blessing it is to have 2 beautiful girls.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRESLEY! WE LOVE YOU.

The Baden Powell

Here are a couple of photos of one of my favorite hiking spots in North Vancouver. It is a short drive (5 mins) from our house. If you are not into hiking then this is not for you. It starts out going straight up the side of a mountain but then levels out. There are a lot of stairs to climb as well and gives an overall great workout. I think it is absolutely beautiful. It takes about 25 mins to get to "the rock" (going at a good pace) which over looks Deep Cove, and in the distance you can even see Coquitlam. It is amazing and every time I go up there I remember how truly thankful I am to live in such a beautiful place. If you ever get to North Van, remember to hike the Baden Powell. If you are really adventurous and want to camp along the way this hike goes from Deep Cove to Horseshoe Bay (approx 12-14 hr hike). Probably won't be done in my near future, but I would love to attempt it one day.

P.S. The first pic is the start of the trail and the last pic is of the rock and the great view. The pics do not show off the true beauty this trail possesses.

Presley's 1st Haircut

Presley was in desperate need to have her long locks trimmed back, so, while in Port Hardy we took her over to Liz's Hair Salon and gave her the star treatment. Unfortunately, she wasn't really in favor. Before going in she looked like such a sweet little baby girl and when she was finished she appeared so much older to me. No longer a baby, but a real little girl. Ain't she cute.

On the road again....

Thanks to a fussy baby we captured this moment just off of the Zebellos turn off. We were on our way up to Port Hardy for the Easter long weekend. So excited to be going "home" for a couple of days. The weather was beautiful on our trip up and very warm. Presley was so anxious to get out of her car seat that she started wailing for a pit stop. Happy to get out of the truck for a few minutes, the kids watched for birds, threw some rocks and played around a bit.

On the slopes of Seymour

What a beautiful morning it was here yesterday. We took full advantage of the nice weather and headed up to Mount Seymour to go sledding. It is so nice to have a ski hill literally 10 mins from your door step. Presley stayed home with Noni & Poppa and the 3 of us headed up the hill. The tobaggan area was perfect, just the right amount of sunshine, the right amount of people and the right amount of snow! We got quite the workout pulling Addy back up the hill on the sled. At first I couldn't figure out why Jason and I were sweating to death and Adysen was still bundled up, but I quickly figured it out. Here are some pictures from our morning. Enjoy.

Adysen Turns 3

January 7th, 2007 came very quickly for us. Our baby turned 3 years old. I feel like I have had her my entire life because I can't quite remember life without her, but on the other hand, I can't believe she is 3 years old already. How quickly time flys. She loved having a birthday. She couldn't wait to have a party and open presents and have cake. We celebrated her party with her new friends from preschool on January 12th at Go Banana's Jungle Gym. What a blast. We hope you enjoy the pictures.

Our growing girls

I haven't posted a picture of the girls lately, so I thought I would share one with you. Can you believe Adysen is going to be 3 years old next month? I can't. Where has the time gone? And Presley, she is almost 8 months old now. I think time keeps getting faster the more children you have.

Adysen is doing really well. She is enjoying living in Vancouver and going to all of the different shops. She loves Costco's demos and Ikea's hotdogs.
Her favorite is the "Go Bananas" Jungle Gym. She could stay in there all day. She has just started Preschool here in Deep Cove. The people are really friendly and the kids are great. It is a wonderful little place to take your kids. She is busy, busy, busy and just never stops. She is wild and crazy but so loving and caring all at the same time. She is a great big sister.

Presley is just going with the flow. She is mesmerized by all the lights here in the city. She loves to people watch when we are out and about. She is very laid back and easy going. Never complains unless she is hungry or tired. She is a real blessing as a second child. She has adjusted well to the move. The first week was rough (she thought it would be fun to hang out with Mom and Dad from about 11pm - 4am) not fun, but thank goodness she is over that. She is in love with her big sister. Addy really can make her laugh. She is trying to crawl right now. She'll get there in no time. She does like to climb, so once she is mobile I will be in trouble. She says "Mama" and we are working in her saying "Dada". She is definitely a Mommy's Girl right now.

They are both a ton of fun and we couldn't imagine our lives without them. They truely make life worth living.

Enjoy the pics.
